Veronica began her career in Austin in 2006 in the accounting department of a publicly traded financial services company. As a result of her ability to collaborate with others, she quickly became a liaison between multiple departments and, building on this strength, Veronica later transitioned to an internal audit role.
Her desire to serve clients and diversify her experience brought Veronica to Holtzman Partners in 2012. Initially working with clients on financial statement audits and employee benefit plan engagements, she now specializes in the firm’s Internal Controls practice. Her clients include American Campus Communities, Aspen Heights, Asure Software and Epicor Software.
Veronica’s clients would describe her as collaborative and thorough. She works to identify improvement points in controls structures to make the testing process more efficient and effective while bringing a positive attitude to every engagement.
Veronica received a B.S. in accounting from McNeese State University (Louisiana) prior to becoming a licensed CPA in the state of Texas and is a member of AICPA and the American Woman’s Society of CPAs.
Veronica can often be found at her favorite Cajun restaurants and enjoys making frequent trips to visit family and friends in her hometown of Lake Charles, Louisiana. She now considers Austin home and loves the city because of its friendly people, great restaurants and outdoor spaces.
What’s your favorite place to travel or visit?
Any island. I love the sun, water and slow pace of island life. Maui and St. John are my favorites thus far.
What would be impossible for you to give up?
Coffee! I own a coffee maker, a percolator, a pour-over and a French press. I have an eclectic mix of coffee mugs that I collect when traveling, so I reminisce about fun vacation memories while I sip.
Name one thing you’ve crossed off your bucket list.
