On August 16, the Holtzman Partners team joined up with the Central Texas Food Bank for a day of volunteering and camaraderie in the food bank’s warehouse inspecting, sorting and packing donated food.
Along with a few other volunteers from the community, our group processed about 7,000 pounds of food which will provide over 5,000 meals for the Central Texas community! Our team divided into multiple groups, each with its own task for the morning. We had folks working non-stop during our shift inspecting food and sorting out anything bad or expired, a team packing up boxes of food for the kitchen, and groups throwing out trash, collapsing boxes and cleaning up.
After spending the morning volunteering, the team headed to the Austin Beer Garden Brewing Co. on Oltorf to unwind and relax over a team lunch. It was a great way to connect with folks from different service line teams and finish out the day.
In addition to volunteering at the food bank this year, we ran a food drive at the office leading up to our volunteer day. Not only did we bring a team of eager helpers to process food for members of the community, we contributed about 150 pounds of donated canned and dried goods to the food bank.
As an Austin-based business, we at Holtzman Partners are passionate about our city and take pride in giving back to our community every year for our annual firm-wide Volunteer Day–we truly look forward to it each year!
