With a career of over 10 years of HR experience, Mya is a multifaceted leader who always maintains a “people first” mindset. She excels at developing strategies that help fuel our firm, while always making it a priority to maintain a positive, high-energy environment and a culture that promotes synergy and innovative thinking. Mya is best known for fostering positive working relationships, creating a workplace focused on people and using data-backed solutions that promote trust.
Mya manages the firm’s human resources functions and her primary areas of focus include the designing and implementation of a holistic HR strategy, the management of a full range of HR services to support the overall business strategy of the firm, and streamlining internal processes for efficiency and redundancy reduction.
Prior to joining Holtzman Partners, Mya has been an important HR leader for companies in the intellectual property, supply chain and manufacturing industries. She earned a B.S. in business administration and a B.A. in general studies from Texas Southern University and became a licensed PHR, SHRM-CP in 2014. She is a member of Austin Human Resources Management Association (AHRMA) and the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM).
Mya enjoys spending her leisure time with her two high-school kids and the family’s puppy, Neo. When she isn’t working, Mya can be found preparing for her next 10k, at a volleyball or football game, or just simply enjoying her family. Mya’s loves include marathons, reading the latest best seller, volunteering and traveling with her daughter to state-wide volleyball games.
What’s something many people don’t know about you? I taught English overseas in South Korea for almost two years and I LOVE history.
What’s your favorite thing to do in Austin? Head Downtown with our puppy for lunch or ice cream and watch the sunset
What would be impossible for you to give up? Several things come to mind…time with family, a daily exercise regimen and cheese or chocolate.
What’s your favorite family tradition? A favorite family tradition would be “family brunch” that’s held every 4th Sunday at Mom’s.
Where is your favorite place to travel to or visit? My favorite place to travel in the U.S. would have to be San Francisco and my favorite place to travel outside of the U.S. would be South Korea.
