With more than 13 years of accounting experience, Kat is involved in a variety of engagements at Holtzman Partners, including financial statement audits, employee benefit plan audits, SOX compliance, and advisory services related to accounting transactions, such as stock compensation expense calculations, financial statement preparation, and purchase accounting.
Some of her clients include Vida, All Web Leads, Millpede, UnboundID, Tango Health, Invenio, Iconixx, Glazing Saddles, Sheshunoff, RetailMeNot, Aspen Heights, Globalscape and Whole Foods.
Kat started her career as a financial auditor for the U.S. Government Accountability Office in Washington, D.C. She moved back to Austin in 2006 to work at EY Austin, then left as an audit manager to move into industry as a manager of SEC reporting and SOX compliance analysis at Newgistics. She joined Holtzman Partners in 2012 when she realized she missed the exciting world of audit and advisory and enjoyed helping clients find solutions to accounting questions. Kat leads the firm’s accounting and advisory practice, and is the firm’s resource on technical accounting matters and quality.
Prior to becoming a CPA and Certified Fraud Examiner in 2005, Kat earned a B.B.A. in accounting and an M.P.A. in auditing from the University of Texas at Austin. Kat is also a member of the AICPA and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. She currently serves as treasurer on the board of directors for Love-A-Bull, Inc., an Austin-based not-for-profit.
