Jun takes pride in his ability to engage with his clients and build trusting relationships with them. He excels at creating open and honest communication with his clients, who always trust and confide in him knowing he can deliver the right solutions. He understands their business needs and is able to collaborate with all levels of management to meet the goals of their business. Jun is genuinely interested in listening to and learning from his clients and finds this the best part of his job.
Jun has successfully served a number of public and private companies, executing each unique audit or report carefully and meticulously. He has shown proficiency in equity financing accounting, and has helped his clients navigate the challenges of preferred share and share based compensation. Additionally, Jun has demonstrated his ability to manage the complexities of a variety of areas, such as receivable allowance, revenue recognition and lease accounting, working closely with his clients throughout each engagement.
Jun began his career in 2012 in the audit department of PMB Helin Donovan, before starting on BDO’s audit team 2 years later. He joined PwC’s Core Assurance team in 2015 and, in 2017, joined the audit team at Holtzman Partners. Jun’s experience has focused primarily on serving clients in the tech and utilities industries. He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting from the University of Kansas and earned his CPA in 2014. He is licensed in Texas and Kansas and is a member of the AICPA.
When not working, Jun enjoys spending time with his wife, Rachel, and their dog, Frosty. Together they like to explore Austin’s great outdoor and dining scenes. He can also be found watching his favorite basketball team, the KU Jayhawks, from November to March.
What’s something many people don’t know about you?
I served in the US Army Reserves for 7 years with a deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from 2008 through 2009.
What’s something you are known for?
My humor. I like to laugh and I like it even more when people around me laugh.
What’s something you know a lot about?
I know a lot about the NBA and how their salary cap and business work. I think it’s just a result of me watching a lot of sports talk shows and reading a lot about collective bargaining agreement. I nerd out when it comes to NBA.
What’s one thing that’s still on your bucket list?
Skydiving. I have a fear of heights, so this might stay on my list forever.
