Jon prides himself in developing constructive relationships with clients and excels at bridging the gap between audit requirements and business capabilities. Jon’s extensive technical knowledge and understanding of the industry make him a valuable resource for his clients. They know they can rely on him to help navigate them through difficult compliance challenges and to provide thoughtful, relevant insight into current trends and issues.
Jon started his career in 2011 at Mountjoy Chilton Medley in Louisville, Kentucky where he worked on SOX, J-SOX (Japanese SOX), SOC reports and litigation support. More recently, in 2014, Jon worked as a senior internal auditor for Papa John’s International where he focused primarily on IT internal audit tasks. Jon later joined Holtzman Partners on the IT audit team at the end of 2014, where he has worked with clients such as Whole Foods Market, AECOM and TriNet.
Jon earned a BSBA in Accounting from the University of Louisville. He received his Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certificate in 2017 and is a member of ISACA. Throughout his career, Jon has worked closely in internal audit support roles for clients across several industries where he has gained significant experience in performing management’s assessment for SOX compliance and completing SOC reports. His primary areas of expertise include assessments of data centers and internal audit assistance projects.
When not working, Jon enjoys spending time with his wife, Lauren, at the Alamo Drafthouse where they like to watch (and re-watch) their favorite movies, analyzing them and catching things they missed with each viewing.
What can’t you stop talking about?
I love talking about cars, movies and food, which makes Austin a great fit for me.
What’s one thing that’s still on your bucket list?
I would love to travel internationally. I’ve been to all 50 States, but I have not traveled outside of the country (yet!).
Where did you grow up and why aren’t you there now?
I grew up in Quality, Kentucky on a farm and moved when I started college, then again when I moved to Texas!
What would be impossible for you to give up?
My Alamo Drafthouse and Torchy’s Tacos obsessions
What’s your favorite way to spend a weekend or an afternoon?
I love spending time out in the garage working on whatever needs to be fixed!
